Miss Wiggles McRee
This was Wiggles on April 20th when she came to us. Looks a little like Winston Churchill.
Oh gracious, when we first met her at Dekalb we could not get her out of our mind. She was (and is) so precious -
with her entire body shaking like a hula dancer. This pup is the kind of dog everyone should dream of having -
sweet, loyal, relaxed and loving. We know her babies will inherit all of her wonderful qualities.

If you would like to be a part of the "World of Wiggles", follow her here.

July 15

Oh my goodness - yesterday we dropped into Barb's to set up our new mom Macon and her 5 pups and captured Wiggles and Ducky having just a Ducky time! Ducky is STILL very congested - but you would never know it. He is as cute and playful as ever. We've been getting regular reports on our little gal Ali from the new family. She is being closely monitored by Greg, Harriet and family vet and appears to be doing better every day. They are doing a great job! We feel so fortunate that all of Wiggles babies have gone home with the most loving and nurturing families imaginable. We are so grateful for each and every one of them. :-)

I'll get you mom!

All but one of Wiggles babies have been adopted! Ducky is still being babied, but he is feeling rather ducky! He may be house transitioned this evening - with sister Ali leaving we don't want him to be alone and lonely. There's a foster home with some wonderful playmates to hang with until he's adopted. Wiggles is still happy and playful as ever.

We've stayed in touch with all the adopters and babies - all are continuing to thrive and grow! Just received some new adorable pictures of Spike to share with all of you. He's quite the model...

News from the new parents:

"Spike went to the Vet today and everything looks good. She said his lungs sound good and clear. He also got his 3rd round of shots and he weighed in at 16 lbs. They loved him!!" The Elliott's

We have a very sad ending to a holiday weekend; little Tria succumbed to the monster infection - they suspect ultimately the results of contracting Bordetella and not having the strength to fight it off. Tria was always one of the smaller, laid back pups and she gave it everything she possibly could. She had her playful, puppy moments but her breathing remained extremely strained. Last evening she appeared to be weakening and at her visit this morning with the vet she decided she was just too tired to continue the fight. We are all heartbroken and tried all we could to see she and all the others had every opportunity at life. She will be missed terribly, she was a beautiful, sweet and loving little girl. We love you Tria.

This past week has been very trying. Three of the babies were very tentative from the upper respiratory infection. On Friday afternoon Ali, the weakest at the time, was taken to a specialist in Atlanta to have her lungs examined and biopsied while under anesthesia. We hope to have the results back today or tomorrow. The specialist indicated she had never seen such a severe bacterial infection. All of the babies were put on a nebulizer course of medication and another antibiotic. The larger pups, although congested, appear normal -- eating, drinking and playing. The three small ones, especially Tria, are still struggling a bit. Once they can diagnose the bacteria, we will hopefully get them on the appropriate course of treatment! It was pitiful to see Ali after her bout with anesthesia - she was so out of it neurologically that it was quite frightening. Fortunately, she seems to have reconnected in that arena. Please keep toes and fingers crossed - that we can figure out what is going on and get them all to their 100% healthy selves.  Three of the babies have gone to their new families with meds in tow, we felt the one-on-one attention and nurturing would be healthier for the stronger pups.

June 18

It has been an extremely stressful week. All of the babies are hanging on to a mysterious upper respiratory condition. There have been
x-rays, oxygen therapy, medications, and a lot of vet time and concern by all. They all have experienced gagging, labored breathing. Everyone has been hands on -- Stephanie and Barbara have been working diligently with the vets and caring for the pups to make sure these little guys and gals stay strong and continue to thrive. They are all eating , drinking, rabble rousing and doing what puppies do. But it's definitely been a roller-coaster week.

Wiggles is still as wonderful as ever! You could just grab her up and eat her she is so darn cute! She is independent from the pups at this time and just hanging around and enjoying them from the other side. She is playful and affectionate and appears to be doing great. Her enormous, milk-laden breasts are shrinking everyday :-). Love that girl.

There has been so much outpouring of concern and interest for Wiggles and her babies - we are grateful for that. People wanting a pup like Wiggles came from all over town. To date we have five of Wiggles babies pre-adopted: Cera, Lizzie, Tria, Chomper and Spike have found wonderful families "chomping" at the bit to bring their new baby home. All the pups will be held and nurtured until the vet's give us a clear health report and we hope that is sooner than later! Keep sending all the pups good vibes.

All are still doing well. Babies all seem to be getting and staying healthy. Took some new photos of Wiggles today and have a couple baby shots we wanted to share. We love the one with Wiggles feeding all the babies.. Foster Mom calls it the "breakfast bar!" The little brown pup Wiggles found to play with and lick to death is her foster sister Didi another adorable pittie mix. Wiggles loves spending time out of doors and really enjoys her long walks with mom and dad and NO babies!

June 3 - Foster Update

Ducky and Tria visited with the vet again yesterday morning. Ducky's lungs were still a little raspy, but Tria was sounding pretty clear. They were prescribed an oral medication and the vet was not too overly concerned -- they seemed to be progressing in the right direction. All the pups were de-wormed last night! Did they have any worms? Who knows, Wiggles the canine vacuum cleaned up everything! She, on the other hand, barked incessantly at 3:48am to go out because she had to go potty, go figure!  I did see Ducky poop this a.m. and it was solid, and worm free! He is SO MUCH better! He has not screamed and he wags and runs and is the first one to the bowl of food. Tria is also fine although she seemed fine yesterday too! All on the mend. Tonight Wiggles and I get Ambian! :-)

May 29 - Happy Memorial Day Weekend!

All "The entire Wiggle's team" have been doing pretty good so far. We did have a bout this week with some upper respiratory concerns in the babies. Several were seen by one of our vets and when little "Ducky" took a downward turn we immediately had him reevaluated. He had developed pneumonia, but with fluids and medication has popped right back up! Last night all were given their "Land Before Time" names and we had a fabulous photo shoot. We hope you'll enjoy as much as we did. They're the cherry on our giant banana split - yum, delicious and the perfect topping. By the way we're the proud parents of - 3 boys: Ducky, Spike and Chomper and 5 girls: Ali, Cera, Lizzie, Elsie and Tria. Wiggles is doing fab and she loves her long walks with foster mom and dad. She NEVER stops wiggling..in fact we think she wiggles in her sleep!

Happy mother's day Wiggles! Mom and babies are doing fabulous!

May 5

Trust us, we're not ignoring all you Wiggles followers...it's just been a crazy few days. Don't have any new photos for you, but Wiggles and all the babies are doing great. Foster mom says the babies are starting to fill out and are adorable. We promise some new pics soon.

April 29

Enjoy our newest photos - I love the last one where Wiggles is taking a count of all of her pups. We think she's looking great and of course so are the babies!

April 28

We're not ignoring all of you -- Wiggles and her little Wigglettes are doing great - is there a sign for crossed fingers and toes? We don't want to jinx anyone! Wiggles is filling out, she loves her dining times. She was also smart enough to figure out that when the other pups come in from the dog run, they bark as they go into their kennels and get a treat  - so now she barks for her treat :). She is always happy, we just love her! Can't wait for the little ones to get a little bigger. By the way, we've been asked to name the babies after characters from "Land Before Time" - do you like these potential names? Ducky, Petrie, Spike, Tippy, Tria, Mo, Chomper and LittleFoot.

April 26

Phew - with work - home - and photo sessions, thank you Barbara for some wonderful new shots of Wiggles and the Wigglettes! They are doing phenomenal and you can see what a cutie pie this little girl is - she is always all smiles. Enjoy :)

April 25

Have not spoken with Foster Mom today - but yesterday was a good day for Wiggles and her little Wigglettes. Every day with nursing - moving babies and a relaxed mom is a GREAT day. We will have some new Wiggles with babies photos by morning. We just received some transport photos from Wiggles first angel - Amy. We loved them and we're sure you will as well. This is Wiggles making her way to us...

April 23

Sad news. This morning when we checked on Wiggles and her babies, we discovered one of the all white pups had died. The remaining eight all look healthy and seem to be very responsive. We are heartbroken. Wiggles appears to be feeling a little better this morning. She is very calm natured and seems very comfortable with her responsibilities of being a mother to many.

A 2:00pm Wiggles run was made by Stephanie with Mutt Madd-ness. Wiggles was resting comfortably with babies. After cleanup and fresh linens Wiggles was served her mid-afternoon Mutt-ini. She loves her kibble soaked in formula - she licked it all right up. Her appetite is great and the babies were all active and nursing.

April 22

10:30pm - No panting, no pushing, no contractions, no nothing - Wiggles had this ball thing in midstream so, everyone got very nervous and called emergency - 15 minutes later - she walked out of her whelping box to follow Kelley -- it falls, splashes (what was that?) At 11:06pm she delivered her first. And minutes later another - it was a very unique labor - relaxed, no signs of discomfort, nothing like any of our other delivering pups!

Wiggles really cleaned the newborns, the babies were moving around and she wrapped her arms around the two of them, pulled them close and went to sleep. At 11:50am she began delivering again, by 3:00am there were 9. Possibly 6 girls - but not definitive.

Found out late this afternoon that Wiggles has coccidia, kennel cough and giardia. She will be receiving medication to take care of all these issues. Poor baby!

April 21

Wiggles was feeling a little under the weather this morning, so she went for a visit to her gynecologist (OK vet) this afternoon. Everything checked out fine - BUT we were told to avoid any speed bumps on the way home! Babies are imminent. Vet staff has bets on 8!
Weighed in at 45 pounds.
