Meet Panda one of our super sweet Shar-Peis; she is one of our rescues from the recent hoarding case. We're not sure of her age, but we are sure of how sweet and loving she is and she loves to be loved on! She has been hanging out in Haven's day care and plays well with all of the dogs there. She enjoys hanging out in her crate or just hanging out. She thinks toys are a great deal of fun and likes playing around with the ball. Soft chew toys and blankets are a real chewing temptation so beware - she loves to chew up her fabric toys! She has been treated for her skin condition and her fuzzy fur is growing back - these things take a while. If you would love to meet Panda, please reach out to us at 404.406.6322 View full description »
Ringo is one of the pups that was rescued from the recent hoarding case. He is a German Shepherd around 10 years old. He is currently under weight, but we are working on getting him to his target weight. Due to his previous situation he is still skittish while eating but with a bit of coaxing he will eat his meals. He is coming out of his shell but is still quite shy. He LOVES being petted and is very sweet and loving. He is a gentle giant and gives the softest kisses. If he wants to be petted more, he will slowly raise his paw to let you know. He is very smart and quick to learn commands such as sit, stay, and paw. He is not very interested in toys but will occasionally chew on his Nylabone. He is house broken and has not had an accident since we started fostering him. He will let you know when he needs to go outside. He is getting more comfortable being outside in our backyard but is still very scared to go on walks; so, having a backyard is a must. While trying to take him on walks, or if we are outside too long, he shows off his shepherding skills to try to get us back inside by looping around us and then going toward the door. He gets along well with our 7-year-old pup, but really does not pay much attention to her. We have left them alone and he just stayed in his bed. Since he was crated for so much of his life, we have not crated him at all and have not had any issues. We think he would be happiest in a calm house with someone that is patient and will help him build his confidence to be his happy self. He would be happiest if he was not crated and again a backyard is a must. We have not had him around kids or high energy dogs but given how skittish he is we do not think they would be a good fit for him. Given his age and personality he would not be happy if he didn’t get the love and attention he deserves! P.S. He loves to try to steal your coffee, so watch out! Interested in meeting Ringo, please contact Mutt Madd-ness. View full description »
From his foster – “Lenny is a sweet boy who loves walks and hiking. He loves to chew on bones and chase balls in the yard. He takes lots of naps and always wants to be close to someone! Such a love bug! He can be a little wary of men, especially in the dark it seems, but once they sit with him for a second he calms down. It’s taken him a few weeks but he’s really starting to open up to the others in the house. I think he’ll do great with a younger family who can take him on a lot of adventures. A family with another young dog that likes playing would be great too! He’s potty trained and really good on a leash. I’m still working on teaching him the basics but he’s learning.” Interested in meeting or knowing more about this guy - contact Mutt Madd-ness. PS - he has adorable teefies! View full description »
NEW 11/20 from Penny's foster - "she's the sweetest, so easy to have around. Very well behaved - low maintenance, but full of personality! We love her!" Meet Penny (nee Cristal - from our Champagne litter). Her litter came to us on New Years Eve 2016, ergo the name. Just a few weeks old - a group of 6 yummy babies. She was one of the two girls. This was a BIG chunky monkey group at 6 weeks they were weighing in at 15 pounds. 🙂 4 years later Penny is back with us. Penny bit their 3 year old and unfortunately they lost all trust in her. We are hoping to find a family for Penny that has older children that are more predictable, or no children. From the family that had her for 4 years. "Penny is a sweet 4 year old Great Dane/Lab mix (80+ pounds). She has been the greatest dog. And we truly love her. She is house trained, but not crate trained. We have had her since she was 8 weeks old. Penny loves a good car ride, especially if it ends with ice cream or pupachino. She can find any spot comfortable for a good nap after a nice walk (which she enjoys). She also likes to dress up for holidays, Christmas pajamas or Halloween costume, she's a great sport." Penny lives with a foster family with a dog and has done beautifully. We have had Penny evaluated by Tenasity from the post evaluation notes "All in all I believe Penny is no more of a threat to people or other dogs then most dogs. We will not place with a family with young children. Penny could use some training with 'leave it' and not pulling on her lead. View full description »
From the owner... Coco (the white one) is a male. *blind* Is literally a live teddy bear, and would cuddle/lay on your lap all day if possible. He tends to still think he is a tiny little puppy and loves to climb all over you and give you kisses. All he needs to get him to him going is a tiny attention and he is all over you. He loves belly rubs and to play with toys. They usually don’t last with him, as he chews through all his toys. But he has lots of fun while the last. He does not like to play fetch, instead he likes to be chased. He likes to show you a toy so you can try and take it from him. He is potty trained but if he has to go he will go inside occasionally. Before he went blind he was over protective with me and did not do well with other dogs. But since he can no longer see I haven’t noticed the same. He tends to do well with kids, so long as they do not hurt him. Daisy (the black one) is a female. Shes a total princess, she is sassy, loyal, spoiled and always ends up getting what she wants. In her eyes all stuffed animals and toys/balls are hers. She loves to play fetch, she could play fetch all day if possible, never gets tired. She loves car rides, to eat meat and lay in bed under the blankets where she is most cozy. She is potty trained and would never go inside. She is as loyal as a dog can get, she has never so much growled at me. Such a good girl, but is not good with little kids or other dogs. (Until they play fetch with her) Once she knows you and is familiar with you, she is very loyal. Both are 6 years old spayed/neutered. All of their shots are up to date. During their entire lifetime they have lived indoors, and have never gone an entire day outside, so they are Not outside dogs. I mostly speak Spanish to them so technically they speak Spanish. From Foster Lori - We are temporarily fostering a stray brought to us Nov 2019 and need help to get him adopted into a furever home. Ranger is fully vaccinated, neutered, has microchip and heartworm negative. Please contact Ranger's foster family to meet him and get adoption info: Lori 404-376-3776. Looking for love at first sight? You found him! Meet your new best friend! Ranger will love you unconditionally, provide constant companionship and LOTS of snuggling. Ranger LOVES people and is eager to meet everyone, bounding up with a big smile, begging to be pet. Then he'll happily melt at your feet. Ranger is energetic, dog-friendly and likes playing, chasing and clowning around with other dogs in the yard, as well as cuddling up and napping with them. Ranger would enjoy a multi dog family with a fenced yard to play and sunbathe. But, as YOUR best friend, Ranger prefers to spend most of his time by your side throughout the day, as you cook, clean, or binge TV on the couch. Ranger is an attentive listener, intuitive to your feelings, caring, and offers empathetic snuggles. Ranger is an adult (4 yo+) neutered male pit bull terrier mix, 60 lbs, brown with white neck, feet and snout. Ranger was found as a stray in awful condition suffering from separation anxiety and skin allergies; but he is SO resilient! Strong, healthy, velvety soft and full of love! Ranger is ready for his new best friend to bring him home where he will feel safe and loved at last.
